Saleable Assets Report

Simplify, simplify. Come on, why are you holding on to that unused exercise equipment? Those outgrown toys? Since you switched to a gardener, wonder what that power mower is worth? Did you ever hear this rule: "Get rid of anything in your closet you haven't used in two years"? Free up some space, reduce your clutter, and pocket some cash while doing it.

This report displays a list of high-value items that you might want to consider selling. The best reference on how to use this report is at How To... Maximize the Value of Your Stuff.

Here are a few specific notes on use this report:

1. (Optional) Filter by a range of market values.
2. (Optional) Filter by a minimum Likelihood to sell.
3. (Optional) Search for (a) specific keyword(s).
4. (Optional) Filter by a Top Folder.
5. (Optional) Filter by a Management Type.
6. Press "Go" to display the assets that satisfy the filter conditions.

The results of the search, if any, will be listed in the lower part of the page.

The columns in the report contain the following. A more advanced explanation of these is in M-V-S Concepts and Calculations:

• "Acq. Date" is the date on which the asset was acquired.
• "Acq. Cost" is the cost of acquiring the asset.
• "Days left" is the number of days the asset will still be useful to you.
• "Market Value" is what the asset is estimated to be worth on the market if you were to sell it.
• "Holding Cost" is what it's costing you to keep the asset. It is the estimated market value minus the estimated disposal value.
• "Benefit" is is the total dollar amount of what it's worth to you.
• "Diff." is the difference between Holding Cost and Benefit. The bigger the "Diff.", the better off you might be if you sell the asset.
• These three are just "per month" versions of the above three values:
• "CPM" is "holding cost per month".
• "BPM" is "benefit per month".
• "DPM" is "difference per month".

Using these results, you can:

• Click on a column header to re-sort the report by the data in that column.
• Click on the asset name to display the Asset Properties page.
• Click on a "Market Value" to change the value.
• Click on a "DPM" to change the value.
• Click on a "Sell it" link to display the Asset Seller page.

If you need to update other asset date, click on the asset name to display the Value and Resale Data panel of the Asset Properties page.
