Delete A Need

When you view a need in the Need Properties page, you can delete it by pressing the "Delete" button at the bottom of the page. See the preceding topic called How To... View All The Details About One Need.

You'll want to heed the warning that MakeLifeEasy presents to you: when you delete a need, you permanently delete all assets that ever covered that need. If that's not what you want to do, consider deactivating the need instead. Usually you'd only delete a need when you entered it by mistake, or if you actually had it but you'll never want to know anything about it again in MakeLifeEasy.

How to Delete a Need But Keep Its Assets

If you entered a need by mistake (for example, it's a duplicate), and you want to get rid of the need but keep its assets, you can reassign those assets to cover a different need, then delete the need. You can do this in one step by "combining" (or "merging") two needs. See the Combine command.
