Add Wardrobe Asset

An asset is anything you own. When you buy a product, it becomes your asset. You enter your assets into MakeLifeEasy so that you can track your wardrobe performance and needs. Another name for your "assets" is your "inventory".

NOTE: When this page appears after you accept an offer, the offer data will already be filled in. You can accept the data as-is or make changes, then just press "OK: Save" to save the data.

"Bought:"

  1. In the first box enter the number of products bought. Usually this will simply be "1". Example: If you buy 2 bags of crew socks with 3 pairs per bag, enter "2" here. (You will enter the "3" below under "count".)

  2. In the second box, enter the price for each product (the total for all products will be calculated automatically).

  3. In the third box, enter the purchase date.

  4. Using the list, select the name of the seller from whom this asset was purchased. You can just select "-Other-" if you don't want to track the specific seller. You can click the "-Add New-" option to pop up a form to enter a new seller.

NOTE: If you are accepting an offer and no seller is selected, click on the "+" button. The "Add Seller" page will appear with the seller data filled in. Check to see if this seller is already in your list. If so, close the "Add Seller" page and select that seller in the list. Otherwise, create a new seller by saving the data in the "Add Seller" page, then continue.

"Product:"

  1. Name: Type in the name of the product. A good, full, descriptive name is recommended: one that includes the designer/manufacturer, specific article, fabric, color, etc. Example: Hathaway broad weave blue pinstriped button-collar long sleeve dress shirt.

  2. Count: The count is the number of items in a single product. Usually this will simply be "1". Example: If you buy 2 bags of crew socks with 3 pairs per bag, enter "3" here. (You would have entered the "2" as the number "bought" above.)

"Covers my need for:"

You bought this asset because you needed it, right? Every asset must be assigned to cover a need. Here you select the need (shopping list item) this asset covers. Select your need from the list, or press "+" to add a new need to your wardrobe, then you can use that need. (HINT: You can use the "(no need") option, but this is not recommended. Any item that you bought or own without a need is "suspect". Using this option indicates that you want to sell an item.)

NOTE: If you are accepting an offer and no need is selected, this indicates that the offerer is recommending that you create a new need. Click on the "+" button to see what the offerer is suggesting. The "Add Wardrobe Need" page will appear with the need data filled in. Check to see if this need is already in your list. If so, close the "Add Wardrobe Need" page and select that need in the list. Otherwise, create a new need by saving the data in the "Add Wardrobe Need" page (making any changes you like), then continue.

"Notes (optional):"

You can type in any notes about the asset here. These notes will be saved along with the asset.

"Pictures:"

If you have a picture or pictures of the asset, check this box before saving. Another page will appear that lets you save the pictures. If you're accepting an offer, check this box, and any pictures of the offer will be saved automatically.

Saving

Press "OK: Save" to add the asset. Before pressing the button, you can choose one of these options:
