More Asset Data
Use this page to enter more data about the asset.
- You can specify a location, user, and purpose for the asset.
- You can provide notes on the asset.
- You can indicate whether you plan to accu-track this asset. Accu-tracking an asset means that you'll try to track its usage rate to provide inventory management data for your database.
If you're unsure, leave this checked. You can always change it later.
More Value and Resale Data
This data is used for tracking and valuing the asset for insurance purposes,
and for valuing the asset for resale.
- Any identifying marks ("ID marks") on the asset, such as scratches.
- Any other valuation notes on the asset:
anything that helps to describe the asset to a potential buyer (or insurer)
so that they can determine how valuable the asset is.
- The method used to determine the asset's value:
- Manual means you will update the asset's value yourself.
- Straight depreciation is good for assets you purchased used.
The textbook definition is:
"Straight line depreciation is calculated by
taking the acquisition price of an asset subtracted by the disposal
value divided by the total productive days the asset can be reasonably expected
to benefit the owner."
- Subtract 20%, then straight depreciation is good for assets you purchased new.
It's just like straight-line depreciation, except that 20% is subtracted off the asset's
acquisition value first.
- Your estimate of the asset's disposal value.
This is the price you could sell it for when you're finished with it
(at the end of your useful lifetime of the asset).
MakeLifeEasy guesses this to be 10% of the asset's purchase price, but you can change it.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or
"Cancel" to close the page without saving.
