Quick Updates
Use this panel to update the status of an asset, e.g., the amount remaining.
- The date acquired ("Acq'd") is displayed for your reference.
- The name of the asset's product.
But note that clicking on this name displays the Asset Properties page.
- The asset status is displayed and can be changed.
However, MakeLifeEasy will make some status changes automatically
when you update the amount left of the asset. This is described in
In Depth: The Life Cycle of an Asset.
- The asset's Days left is displayed for your reference.
If you change the amount left of the asset,
you'll notice that the Days left may change.
- The "Amount (in entities or uses)" displayed depends on the asset's management type:
- If the asset is a durable, only the Days left will be displayed.
You can change the value directly, or press "..." and the Remaining Lifetime Calculator will pop up to help you calculate the lifetime remaining.
- If the asset is a supply,
the original number of entities acquired is shown for reference,
the Count last checked is shown,
and the actual Count (as of today) is shown and may be changed.
The estimated Count, calculated by MakeLifeEasy based on your usage rate, is entered by default.
- If the asset is apparel,
the original number of entities acquired is shown for reference,
the number of past and future uses last checked is shown for reference,
and the number of actual past and future uses are shown and both may be changed.
The values that MakeLifeEasy has calculated, based on your usage rate, are entered by default.
- The last check date is shown and may be updated.
It will automatically update to today if any other field is edited.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or
"Cancel" to close the page without saving.
You can also press "Delete" to delete the asset, or "Sell it" to connect you with buyer sites.
Basic Data
This panel displays basic data about the asset. Some of the fields are editable.
Included are:
- Pictures of the asset. Click on "View pictures..." or "Change pictures....".
- The name of the asset's product.
You can click on the product name to display the Product Properties page,
and view or edit details of the product there if you like.
- The location, user, and purpose
of the asset, if specified. You can change any of these.
- The need that the asset covers.
You can change the need (including to a new need
by clicking on the "+" button next to the need list)
and/or view the need by pressing the "Show" button.
If you change the need, the days left will be
recalculated for both the former need and the new need when you save the data.
- A brief history of the asset's life, shown by the dates at which
the asset was acquired, activated, last checked, deactivated, and expired.
You can change the expiration date. All other dates are changed
automatically by MakeLifeEasy.
- Notes on the asset which you can edit.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or
"Cancel" to close the page without saving.
You can also press "Delete" to delete the asset, or "Sell it" to connect you with buyer sites.

- The quantity purchased.
- The purchase price, and your indication of whether that price is just your estimate (or guess), and whether the price includes tax.

- Whether or not you returned this item.
- Any notes about the purchase of the asset.
Make any changes you like.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or
"Cancel" to close the page without saving.
You can also press "Delete" to delete the asset, or "Sell it" to connect you with buyer sites.

(NOTE: This panel is not displayed for Durable-type assets.)
This panel displays data about how the asset will be managed in inventory.
As the note says, you should only change this data under special circumstances.
See the Inventory Management Data Panel for more information.
Note that you can't change the management type of an asset once it's assigned.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or

Value & Resale Data
(NOTE: This panel is not displayed for Supply-type assets.)
This panel displays data about the asset's value and potential for resale.
This is very similar to the Asset Value and Resale Data
provided when the asset is initially loaded. See that topic for more information.
Additional Notes:
- Market Value is the estimated current value of the asset.
- Benefit Remaining is the monthly dollar value of that asset to you.
- Lifetime Remaining is the amount of time the asset will continue to be valuable to you.
- Resale Value is what the asset could be sold for when it is no longer valuable to you
(that is, at the end of the "Lifetime Remaining" above).
- See the Asset Value and Resale Data topic for more information on these fields
and the remaining fields.
Make any changes you like.
When you're finished, press "OK: Save" to save the data or
"Cancel" to close the page without saving.
