To understand how to use any page:

Open the page in your browser

Press "F2" or click on "Help"
You will see detailed instructions for using the page.

Basic Page Types Available

Many pages in MakeLifeEasy are of similar types. Here are some of the major types.

List pages

Many MakeLifeEasy pages are used to view lists of data. Examples include the Search Needs ^< page and the Search Assets ^< page. You often have the ability to search, filter, and sort in any combination you choose, for maximum flexibility. See How To... Use list pages.

Property pages

Property pages "pop up" from the main page to display all the details about a specific type of item in your MakeLifeEasy database. Examples include the Need Properties page and the Asset Properties page. See How To... Use property pages.

Popups

Certain other pages (aside from property pages) "pop up" to display detailed data and/or to allow you to perform an operation without moving from the page in the main browser. See How To... Use popup pages.

Some Common Features

Calculating

For many fields that allow numeric data entry, you can double-click on the field, and the calculator will pop up. You can use it to perform simple arithmetic operations.

Understanding MakeLifeEasy's Unique Behavior

Since MakeLifeEasy is an application, not just a web site, sometimes it may not behave as you expect. Here are a few things to look out for.

Refreshing Calling Pages

If you make changes to data in one window, you won't see the changes to the data in another window until you refresh it. For example, if the Search Assets list shows the "days left" of an asset to be 2, and you pop up the Asset Properties panel, change it to 10, and save it, the Search Assets list will still show 2 days left until you refresh it.
