How to...
Load My Starting Inventory

  • See Frequently Asked Questions on How To topics.

Two Reasons to Load Starting Inventory

    To Record Home Inventory

You can do this for apparel (or other reusables) and durables for which you want to get accurate Total Asset Values < and Saleable Assets < reports right away. The Total Asset Value report is useful for purchasing and for making claims against homeowners insurance.

    To Create Smart Shopping Lists

You can do this step for the supplies and apparel for which you want to get accurate Shopping Lists < right away.

You can skip this step completely if you like, and the MakeLifeEasy reports will gradually home in on your correct values. This way you can skip the inventory step, but it will take a while for some of your reports to become accurate.

    How To Do It

You can use the (optional) Inventory Collection Worksheet < to collect this data, and the Home Inventory < page to load it.

Open your Home Inventory < page. (You can click on the "<" here to open that page in the main browser, and you can click on the page name here to open that page's help topic. Follow the instructions for that page to load your home inventory ("existing assets") for each location in your home.
